Tandragee is a small town of about 3,000 people, located
on the Cusher River in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The town is a
picture postcard place, with the main street built on a steep hill.
Despite its sleepy appearance, Tandragee is a place of great
significance to the modern Irish psyche. On the hillside overlooking the
town is the wonderfully situated Tandragee Castle. The castle was built
in the 1830’s by the by the sixth Duke of Manchester, George Montagu.
The grounds of Tandragee castle are today used as a golf course while
the castle itself houses the Tayto potato crisp factory. Tandragee
Rovers ground is at Madden Road. They have played here since the mid
90's after moving from their previous home Manchester Park. To find out
more about the ground go to
facilities. |

Having developed the Madden Road pitch into one of the best
playing surfaces in the league Tandragee
Rovers Football Club’s continuous development programme
identified the need for new club facilities. The
new club facilities would bring the club up to the standards
required by the Irish Football Association, attracting new
members and create more community involvement. This would meet
the Clubs objectives as set out in their constitution adopted on
the 21st March 2000. In September 2002, an application for
lottery funds was made. In April 2009 the clubs facilites were
approved by the IFA to meet their minimum Intermediate criteria. |

 |
The SPORTS COUNCIL
for NORTHERN IRELAND LOTTERY FUND awarded the club financial
assistance on 17th December 2002. In
February 2003, the Project Team on behalf of Tandragee Rovers
Football Club formally accepted the Sports Council Grant offer
toward the construction of new club facilities.
The new pavilion was completed for the start of the
new 2005/06 season. The new facilities will be the envy of clubs
not only within the Mid Ulster League but from throughout
Northern Ireland. The new pavilion includes spacious home, away
and officials changing rooms, men's, ladies and disabled
toilets, an office, kitchen and a committee room. |
|
|
|
The Club have made
the Committee Room available to the local community so if any
groups wish to use the room they can do so, just contact the
Club. |
